Super, super stoked with my second place at The Mission this weekend at the Brouwersdam.

And yes... I was pretty nervous in front of all my heats. Every year the chicks, girls & ladies - 61 in total this time - are getting better & better. I really had to do my best to finish on the podium.

I am happy to see so many (new) enthousiastic faces in this great sport. Keep on rocking. Gonna go for a new record next year???

Strong Current

This weekend the coastgard/ police had their hands full on saving people out of the water due to a very strong current. In total they saved 15 people alone in Scheveningen the last two days. Still it was very busy with kiters, surfers and windsurfers as the wind was blowing strong from the SW (side shore) and waves built up around/ above logo high. The first serious 'swell' since a couple of weeks. So everybody was eager to get in the water. Current or no current.

We checked out the South (Zeeland) first. But were a little bit dissapointed by the wind strengh over there. So we drove back up again to Scheveningen. Later on we heard that only just half an hour after we left the Brouwersdam wind kicked in super strong and people were out of control with 3.7. In Scheveningen it was a bit more easy going. The big guys were on 4.7. I could just hold on to my 4.1.

My dad faced the wind and all the sand and took some picts. THANKS DAD! Check them out on the Stehsegelrevue.
