Sun was shining bright when we got off the boat at Texel on Sunday. Drove down to paal 9 for some lunch. Nice, but small lines where hitting the beach. Enough to make us curious to see what's happening at paal 17. Picture perfect: no wind and one meter glassy righthanders coming in one after the other. Surf's up.
On monday it was registration day for the World Windsurfing Slalom Championship started. I was a bit disappointed to see nothing much was happening on the beach. On Texel at the moment it is all about the big catamaran race 'Round around Texel' upcoming Saturday. The windsurfing Worlds is nothing more than a side program. Most people didn't even know it is taking place at the moment.
When we woke up this morning it was windy. On our way home we stopped at Wijk aan Zee. Whipped cream on the pie after already a really nice weekend. Two hours of sailing with 4.4. What a day!
Meanwhile at Texel they were able to sail three eliminations. If you want to know what is going on over there, check out the official event website. For us this weekend brought for sure the real Zwitserleven-feeling.
