Boat Düsseldorf

Last weekend we went to Boat Düsseldorf. Hadn't been here for several years. And was surprised to see what was going on. Brands like Patrik Boards (first picture), Point7, Naish, Starboard/Severne and Tabou were there.
Lot of action going on in the pool with stand up paddle and wakeboarding. And international teamriders talking about our sport and their plans for 2010 and future. Nice atmosphere.
If you are thinking of goig. Boat is still open till upcoming Sunday.

It's on

As we speak the Dutch Championship Icesurfing is taking place at Strand Horst near Harderwijk. Check the webcam for live footage.

When I looked outside the window a couple of minutes ago the ice in front of my house looked very wet. The snow is melting fast. Which in fact is positive for icesurfing. I am going to check out Langeraar this morning. Probably the last time this week as the temperature is going up next couple of days.

Whatever you are doing today...enjoy!

Another try

Due to the snowfall the Dutch Championship Icesurfing didn't take place last weekend. The organization is going for another try tomorrow.

Meanwhile I've been iceskating already 4 times this week. Just love it and can't get enough of it...

ice ice baby

Yesterday I skated a tour at the Nieuwkoopse Plassen. Started in Noorden (about 15 kilometer from where I live) across the lake to Nieuwkoop, back again over the other side, onwards to Woerdense Verlaat and then back again to Noorden. Pretty nice between the reed and on the lake.
Toydat the wind is howling around the house. KNMI warns to watch out for snow. So I dressed up warm and went to Langeraar to see if they are icesurfing over there already. And yes, it is on. Borrowed a set to go for a ride myself. Forgot to take lunch with me, but at the koek & zoopie they got all you need to stay warm: hot choco, glühwein and Unox rookworst. What a great day.
If conditions stay well tomorrow dutch championship icesurfing will be held at Strand Horst near Harderwijk.

It's all about ice & snow last couple of weeks here in Holland. Haven't seen so much snow since I was a little kid. And it's still not over yet. I've been on the ice two days ago. But due to snowfall the ice quality is bad compared to last winter. Still keep my fingers crossed to do some long distance iceskating on a lake or river nearby. But in the weekend forecast says: more snow. Which is bad for the ice. If so I'll probably go cross country skiing instead.
